Know a car? Add what you know and earn Win Points.
Owners, mechanics and inspectors add the photos and records that make a VIN Passport useful to the next buyer. Every accepted contribution earns points you can redeem for report discounts, store credit and gift cards.
Contributing is separate from buying a report. You never need to contribute to check a car.

Base points before multipliers. Points are pending until the item is accepted, then vest. They never change a VIN Grade.
Multipliers
×3Bounty vehicles that buyers are reading but nobody has documented
×2First evidence of its kind on a record
×1.5When the newest evidence of that kind is out of date
×1.2Weekend captures
Up to ×2Your tier, from Rookie to Legend, based on lifetime points
The bounty multiplier replaces the first-on-record and out-of-date multipliers; the weekend and tier multipliers apply on top.
Vesting and redemption
From upload to reward.
Add evidence
Open a vehicle, see what its record is missing and the points for each item, then upload.
Points are pending
They appear in your wallet straight away while the item is reviewed.
They vest after 14 days
If the item is not rejected in that time. Rejected items and duplicates earn nothing.
Redeem
Once your account is 30 days old, your identity is verified and you have 5,000 vested points: report discounts, store credit, gift cards and more.
Vested points expire after 18 months without any activity. One accepted photo resets the clock. See the rewards catalog
Trust levels
Verified people, weighted evidence.
Every contribution shows who added it. Verified owners, shops and inspectors count for more in the VIN Grade than an anonymous claim, and you can see which is which on every record.

Level 3Credentialed professional
Publish service records and inspections under your business name. These count the most.
Verify your shop or professional credential.
Points never change a VIN Grade.
The VIN Grade is calculated only from evidence and where it came from. Nothing you earn, buy or redeem moves it, which is why buyers can trust it. Evidence you add can move it, up or down, like any other record.
Good evidence
What gets accepted.
The actual car, as it is today. Old, borrowed or edited photos are rejected.
Readable details. The odometer, the VIN label and the date, mileage and total on invoices.
No personal details. Cover names, addresses and card numbers on documents before you upload.
One copy is enough. Duplicate files earn nothing.
Facts, not opinions. Notes earn 30 points; notes with a photo or a document behind them help buyers most.
Questions contributors ask
Do I have to own the car?
No. Anyone with a verified identity can add photos and notes about a vehicle they can see in person. Owners can also claim their vehicle, confirm documents about it, and their records count for more.
Does adding evidence change the VIN Grade?
Evidence can; points can't. The VIN Grade measures how much trustworthy information exists about a vehicle, so new photos or records can raise it, or reveal a problem. Win Points never change a grade, an evidence weight or anyone's standing.
When can I use my points?
Points are pending until your item is accepted, then vest after 14 days. Your first redemption unlocks when your account is 30 days old, your identity is verified and you have 5,000 vested points.
What happens if an upload is rejected?
The pending points for that item are removed. Duplicate files earn nothing. Repeated fake or borrowed photos close the account.
Is contributing part of buying a report?
No. Checking a car and contributing are separate. You never need to contribute to run a VIN, and buying a report never asks you to upload anything. You can redeem points for report discounts if you want to.
What are bounty vehicles?
Vehicles that buyers are reading but that have little or out-of-date evidence. Everything you add to a bounty vehicle earns ×3 until its record is strong.
Not sure where to start?
Missions list the exact gaps on real records, with the points shown up front. Bounty vehicles earn ×3.
